Changes to my study programme

Imagen
I study odontology at Universidad de Chile and this is my first year of a total of six. In general, I think that my faculty has good spaces and infrastructure. At least the ones that I've been using during the past months. But I think that the dean could make some changes in order to have a better faculty! We have some green areas, and they are very useful to us as students because we use these spaces to relax and stay chill in our free time between classes. But these areas need to be improved. We could make these spaces more comfortable by putting more comfortable seats, like garden chairs or couches to have a good rest when we need it.  Another improvement that I think is necessary is to upgrade the court that our faculty shares with Chemistry. I know that technically the court belongs to the other faculty, but I think it is a good opportunity to come together and upgrade it. The floor needs to be cleaned and it also needs to be rearranged because the court lines don't match ...

Jurassic world: not the movie, but the real one.

Imagen
One of the best memories that I have from my childhood is watching on the television, at five o'clock in the afternoon, a programme about dinosaurs on Discovery Channel. I remember that I stopped everything that I was doing at that moment in order to watch my favourite programme. Because of this, if the time machine were invented, and if I have the possibility to use it, I would definitely travel back to the Jurassic Period, more specific to the end of this geologic period, on the west of north america, to have the possibility to see a Diplodocus, the dinosaurs with the long neck that is shown in the bottom photo of this blog! I will probably travel back in time with a paleontologist that knows a lot about dinosaurs and the Jurassic Period, so this expert can explain everything that we would probably see, and to stay safe from any possible dangerous dinosaur. I would take tons of pictures: of the dinosaurs, the weird plants and insects, and the landscape, from a safe distance obvio...

My favourite cartoon: SpongeBob SquarePants!

Imagen
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants! I think you probably remember the intro of this cartoon in Spanish, but when you see the main character's face, I bet you can recognise him. As you can read, my favourite cartoon when I was a child, and probably at the moment to be honest, it's SpongeBob SquarePants! This Nickelodeon cartoon show made me laugh so many times, especially in the afternoons when I was in elementary school. I remember that I came back home from school and I immediately started to do my homework so I could finish as soon as possible and have the afternoon free to watch cartoons on the T.V. This cartoon shows the life of SpongeBob, a fast food worker that lives in an underwater city called Bikini Bottom. He has a lot of adventures with his friends, Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks, his pet Gary, his neighbour Squidward Tentacles, and other funny characters. I think I like the show because it has funny stories every episode and a lot of exagge...

Chilean Magallanes and Antarctic Region: the best holidays I've had

Imagen
To this point in my life, I haven't been to that many holidays, or at least not to really interesting places other than my grandparents house in the countryside. But in February of this year (2022 to those reading in the future) I had the opportunity to go to the very south of Chile for the first time.  My girlfriend’s family had been preparing for this holiday for a long time, and they invited me to go with them. My mother in law was planning everything along with a friend of hers, so we were ten people in total traveling together. The first stop of this one week trip was Puerto Natales. The airplane travel was horribly uncomfortable, but once we saw the landscape, we forgot everything bad that happened in the plane. It was very cold and super windy. We used the rest of the day to set up the cabin where we were going to stay (a very beautiful cabin by the way). The following days we went to La Cueva del Milodón and Torres del Paine. The scenery was breathtaking. Then, we traveled ...

Iceland: a northern destination

Imagen
Iceland: One of my dreams is to visit Iceland. I think it's a beautiful country with unbelievable landscapes. Iceland is an european country located near the Arctic Circle. It has a population of about 400.000 people, and the majority of them live in the capital Reykjavik. The first time that I heard of this country was in a movie called The secret life of Walter Mitty. I saw a scene where the protagonist goes downhill on a longboard. I was amazed by the landscapes and the road which was perfect for a longboard ride. The first thing I would do there is obviously go for a skate or longboard to imitate the scene of the movie. Immediately after I finished the movie, I started to search for more information about the country, and I discovered that it has a lot of volcanic activity. It has glaciers, mountains and geysers. Also, you can see the Northern Lights if you go outside at night. I would like to take a lot of photos if I go to Iceland, I really think it is a beautiful place. But...
